Rosemount financial planner wins at Personal Finance Awards 2019

The winners of the Personal Finance Awards 2019 were announced on 28th November, and we couldn’t be prouder that one of Rosemount’s own was a winner!

Financial planner Andrew Grassick was awarded ‘Money Planner of the Year’ by the Personal Finance Society.

I was nominated for the Money Planner of the Year award at the 2019 Personal Finance Awards because of my pro-bono work with the Citizens Advice Bureau. The Personal Finance Society (PFS) teamed up with Citizens Advice to offer free generic financial advice to those who could not otherwise afford it. I have been volunteering with Barking & Dagenham Citizens Advice Bureau since the Money Plan project first started in 2007 and I volunteer two afternoons a month.

Andrew went on to say: “There are approximately 100 Independent Financial Advisers giving their time and volunteering at Citizen Advice Bureaux across England and Wales.

The people I see typically are on lower incomes who do not always have access to the appropriate support. The type of enquiries are typically pension related and helping clients reclaim overpaid Income Tax, although over the years, I have helped members of the public with PPI (Payment Protection Insurance) claims and endowment complaints.

Financial paperwork and terminology can be daunting for some and it is very satisfying to be able to apply my knowledge and skills to help those who would otherwise struggle to obtain impartial generic advice.”

The awards, which took place at the International Conference Centre in Birmingham, were presented by popular comedian Jo Caulfield.
